NP/CNM Lobby Day and Legislative Breakfast
Details: Where: Meet at the Blatt Building First Floor Large Meeting Room, located on Statehouse Grounds in Columbia.

Cost: $5 to offset cost of catering
Why: To spend time with and educate legislators on NP and CNM scope of practice barriers impacting patient care and access. Legislators are very interested in our practices and would like to know more about where we practice and about our patient populations.
PLEASE wear your lab coat and name pin!
8 to 9:30 AM: Legislative Breakfast. Blatt Building, First Floor Large Meeting Room. Meet and Greet your legislators. AANP NP of the Year Award and AANP Advocacy of the Year Award announced and plaques awarded to Recipients. Introduction of SCNA leadership, SCNA Executive Director, and Coalition Board. Special Recognition of our Lobbyist Wanda Crotwell and Champion Legislators. 😊
9:30 to 10:30 AM: Meet with Your Legislator. Make an appointment to meet with them. Go to this website to find your legislator: www.scstatehouse.gov Go to the bottom of the page and put in your address and click on “Find legislators”. Up pops your state legislators. The Legislators’ offices are in the Blatt Building or Gressette Building located on the State House Grounds.
10:30 to 11:45 AM: Tour of State House or visit State House gallery to observe legislators in action.
Noon: Lunch on your own and time to return home.
The State House Grounds are located in downtown Columbia surrounded by Sumter Street, Assembly Street, Pendleton Street, and Gervais Street.
Parking is available on the streets and in garages located on Lady Street (one block away from State House Grounds) and Gervais Street (across from the State House grounds).

Finally, PLEASE make a donation to the Coalition for Access to Healthcare, which is working with SCNA on the APRNs’ behalf at the Statehouse in order to change health policy and laws to improve access to care and remove barriers to our practice.
